V Rose Pottery
I love playing in the mud and the unpredictability of fire, and Raku pottery is the perfect path for anyone who loves the unknown. Each piece is unique, a treasure, and unreproducible. I have been playing in the mud since 2016 when I chanced upon it at the Barry Brown Clay Studio in the Corpus Christi Art Center. I was hooked immediately. Initially, I wasn't good, and sure I wasn't a natural, but I was persistent. My husband bought me my first wheel, followed shortly by our first kiln. We didn't have a clue what we were doing, but they say ignorance is bliss! I love trying new techniques, learning the how’s and whys of all the aspects of clay, even teaching and sharing what I've discovered, but my first love is raku. The raku firings have always provided me with exciting results. My path is of mud and fire, the potter, the clay, and the unknown.
