Moon Musings - June

If you feel something calling you to dance or write or paint or sing, please refuse to worry about whether you’re good enough. Just do it. Be generous. Offer a gift to the world no one else can offer: yourself.
— Glennon Doyle

June feels like a pivot point. Half the year has slipped into history, however recent, and the other half lay ahead, unexplored, unseen. Was the first part of this year a lifetime or a finger snap? Long days somehow transform themselves into short months.  This concept has us thinking about the passage of time and our potential. Our gallery artists often share with us that, if life becomes so busy that they cannot create, then they feel a restlessness in their spirits that is not hard to define. It feels like self-negation, like denying that infinite river of creativity an outlet for its expression. As artists ourselves, we feel the same and understand this in a foundational way. As gallery owners, we love that creativity’s gentle, yet urgent tug leads our resident artists to create the very treasures on display in our charming seaside gallery. These pieces embody that expression. It’s the validation of that creative urge, that force that is hard to describe yet easy to recognize.

So, here we are halfway through the year. Is something calling you to dance or write or paint or sing? The last half of the year presents itself to you as your opportunity to prioritize this side of yourself. We invite you to honor that.
