Moon Musings - May

May is the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope.
— Emily Bronte

The push and pull of warmer weather replacing the chill of early spring is easing, and May is settling itself in. This feels like the start of something more stable, something we hoped for during the cold winter months. And the expectation that lingers in the air just now inspires thoughts about the glorious beginnings we routinely and gratefully receive in our lives.

The promise of a new day each morning

The opportunity to deepen and renew relationships with each conversation

The chance to reshape ourselves one decision at a time

And for artists, every new canvas, fresh block of clay, and each new gemstone represents a new start, also. It’s a possibility in the making, a hope that we can bring our skillsets forward to breathe life into something that was, previously, just an idea. The expectation, the wishes, and the hope are only ethereal and intangible until we decide to make them so, to do the things that bring them into our reality. We think that’s pretty magical.

So, we wish you a positive and productive day with each new sunrise.

We wish you deeper and renewed relationships.

And we wish you the desire to reshape your life to exactly the one you envision in your quiet moments.

And if you want to see the manifestations of our artists' new beginnings, come by our cozy seaside gallery.  Warm smiles and gorgeous art await you.

Mother’s Day Approaches

For those of us who have (or had) amazing moms, we celebrate.  For those of us who seek to break generational patterns by reshaping the mom role in our lives, we uplift.  For those of us who had people who stepped up to fulfill a maternal role in our lives, we offer thanks and gratitude.

Do you need a gift to celebrate the mom or mom figure in your life?

Pure Mom energy is healing and affirming, and we often hear these exact words when people describe the experience of visiting our coastal gallery. It just feels warm and affirming.

Come see for yourself. We think you’ll agree!

May Artist Spotlight Reception + Austin Street Art Walk

Join us Saturday May 11th at 4-6pm for a reception honoring this month’s spotlight artists - Karen Rester and Kimmi Moake! Visit with the artists, grab a bite to eat with hors d'oeuvres from Carter’s deli, and find some new art to connect with!

May 11th is also the Austin Street Art Walk so be sure and visit everything going on in historic downtown Rockport after you stop by.

Gallery co-founder Karen Rester specializes in nature-inspired weavings, fiber work, and collage filled with spirit and movement.

“My art work comes from that other world around each of us, natures sixth sense. I work with fibers, paper and found wood, weaving, painting with paper, blending and weaving each piece into my expression of the beauty and magic of this planet.

Mixed media artist Kimmi Moake specializes in worldly treasures and various mediums crafted to express Mother Nature.

“I have realized over the years that Mother Nature is my greatest teacher and I often turn to her for answers to my existential questions and to remind me of true beauty and harmony. My work exhibits this and you can feel that I start each piece with intention.”

April Art Prompt

Keeping in mind our limitless potential, dive into learning a skill that has seemed too remote or far removed from your usual practice.  Love fiber arts? Try hooking a rug! Love resin? Push the boundaries by trying something entirely new.  Love charcoal? Combine it with acrylic paint to see what happens.

Potential, both yours and that of the work you’ll create, is limitless!
